My father-in-law and his beautiful wife live in Columbus.

My daughter went to Ohio State for undergrad and graduate school.

The real estate commission is located in Columbus.

My incarcerated brother is in Columbus.

Over the years, I’ve been to Columbus a lot.

Drives from Cincinnati to Columbus Ohio are brutally boring!

However, I have the best conversations with my wife on these trips.

Saturday we talked about heaven.

“What do you think we will be like in Heaven?” she asked.

“The best version of ourselves. Our essence.” I quickly replied.

I’m not sure where that answer came from, but the more I think about it, the more it resonates with me.

In Heaven, there are no imperfections. Pride. Jealousy. Envy. Anxiety. Impurity.

In Heaven, our true essence can be fully expressed.

Only, I don’t think we have to wait for Heaven to express our essence.

Opportunities arise daily.

Listening.

Laughing.

Singing.

Dancing.

Painting.

Writing.

Building.

Sharing.

Caring.

Loving.

The verbs of a good life.

The verbs of our best self.

The verbs of our essence.

I love Cincinnati.

I love Columbus.

I’m thankful for the in-between.
